Full disclosure: this is not an arm’s-length client result. Thelma is our co-founder’s own artist project, and we built it before we offered the method to anyone else. We think that is the stronger endorsement — we did this for one of our own, and we live with every decision on it.
Her two rooms, measured
The impulse below is our instrument; the numbers are hers. Colorado settles over a long tail. Chicago answers and stops. Read both and the difference is felt before it is named.

Her color — not ours
Echo Room’s own site is deliberately neutral. This is the one place we let an artist’s color into the room, because that is the entire point: we are the room; she is the sound.

How it was built
Thelma is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who moved from Castle Rock, Colorado to Chicago. Two places, two ways a sound behaves — and the whole site is built on the difference between them.
We found her two rooms in the interview, measured how long each one rings, and derived everything from those two numbers. Colorado settles over seven-tenths of a second with a long tail; Chicago arrives in a quarter of a second and stops. Scroll from one into the other and the site tightens. Most visitors never notice. Everyone feels it.
A third room sits on the homepage as held silence — a chapter she has not finished writing. When she records it, she flips one field in the CMS and the silence becomes a chapter. No code, no developer, no wait.
